our lives in a photo-nutshell

Now that I'm back from vacation and have my professional photos from Our Labor of Love in hand, I figure it's time to resume recapping and reviewing (for my own memory and for the benefit of future Atlanta brides, respectively). I've already given the rundown on our lovely rehearsal dinner at Canoe, but I wanted to share one more part of that evening before I dive back into the big day: the obligatory rehearsal dinner slideshow!

This was definitely a team effort -- Jon diligently scanned in dozens of old family photos, dropped them into iMovie and slapped a song on his portion of the pictures, then left the rest to me. Given that I didn't finalize it and burn it to DVD until about 2:30 p.m. on rehearsal-dinner-day afternoon, I'm thrilled with how it came out! We played the slideshow for our guests at the rehearsal dinner and also projected it, without sound, on a big blank wall at the reception so everyone else had a chance to the pictures.

Unfortunately, Jon, who is a good steward of his hard drive's storage space (unlike myself), deleted the iMovie file a while ago, so in order to share the slideshow with y'all I had to download a trial ripper and extract a file from the DVD I burned, hence the sort of annoying watermark in the top left corner. Just ignore it. Without further ado, here's our rather lengthy, somewhat entertaining childhood-to-marriage slideshow:

Deepest gratitude to The New Pornographers, Fiona Apple, Gary Wright and Josh Ritter for unsanctioned use of their excellent music. Does this qualify as fair use? Not sure, off the top of my head... Regardless, I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into our younger, cuter days. Too bad there weren't more pictures of teenage Jon with green hair!
